Coming late May to Berner Oberland area( May 20-24). We’d like advice on an easy walk to see some of the lovely wildflowers. Can you give us some guidance on where we might go? Thank you so much.

Hello Galvgirl,

Here are a few suggestions, 1 & 4 are considered easy, 2 &3 are moderate.

Hope this gets you started and perhaps other members will be able to share some tips too.

Kind regards,

Yolanda

A reminder that Schynige platte won't be a accessible in late May as the railway is closed

Hello Galvgirl,

I agree with 1960man! Schynige platte is very well known for beautiful flowers but it's maybe to early in the year! Maybe the area of Mürren or Gimmelwald (is less high than the Schynige Platte) could be a possibility?!

Have agreat trip!

Martin

Hello Galvgirl,

One of my all time favorites, as an easy walk with breathtaking views is the 'Mountain View Trail'. From Lauterbrunnen, you take the gondola up to Grütschalp. From there, you will find the Mountain View Trail, which leads you all the way to Mürren. It is approximately a 2 hr walk. The views of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau are amazing. With respect to flowers, late May might still be a bit early, but hopefully you will see some!

Wishing you a wonderful trip!

Monica
