Rental in or near Thun for 4 weeks in summer

I have stumbled upon your website when trying to find accommodation in Thun. I am a Veterinary Medicine student from the UK and will be working in a veterinary practise in Thun for 4 weeks in the Summer, and am trying to find a room to rent during this period (25th July- 19th August). A room in Steffisburg, Gwatt, Heimberg, and Amsoldingen would also be suitable.

Are you able to help me/ point me in the right direction please?. Are there any websites/ forums you recommend I could go on to find accommodation?.

How nice you'll be working in Thun for a while! It's a lovely city: www.myswissalps.com/thun. You may want to ask the veterinary practice employees for suitable options. They could have insider knowledge of available rooms.

Here are some more ideas for your search:

• Check E-Domizil and Interhome. Both have a large selection of rentals available throughout Switzerland. Most options might be too pricey, but I don't know what your budget is. You can filter on price and on 1-person studio options.
• Would you consider a room in a (youth) hostel (www.myswissalps.com/hostels)? If so, you may look into the ones in Leissigen or Interlaken Ost. I suspect both are too far off from Thun for your needs though. It would take a train ride of just over 30 minutes to Thun from both locations.
• There are rental bungalows available at the TCS Camping in Gwatt near Thun.
• Try en.comparis.ch/immobilien/marktplatz/thun/wohnung/mieten.
• Check the options provided by Thunersee Tourism: www.thunersee.ch/en/planning/accommodation. Or contact them with your specific request. They might be able to help you find a good room.
• See if student-housing.ch/ can help you out. They seem to focus on the Swiss cities with universities only, but you could give it a try.
