Hi travelers,

Swiss public transport will be celebrating its 175-year existence this year. During 5 weekends from May to October you can enjoy lots of activities throughout the country. Examples are:

  • rides with historic trains, locomotives, trams and buses
  • a look behind the scenes of public transport-related companies, such as train depots and workplaces
  • guided tours

All information can be found in German, Italian and French at:

Hi Annika,

Sounds interesting...

Are there any Swiss Travel Pass discounts coming up....

Also for 1 day travel in Zurich which pass is the best option

Regards,

Subhayan

Hi Subhayan,

At the moment, there is no promotion on the Swiss Travel Pass.

If you plan to explore Zurich only for one day, the best option is to get the Zurich Card: www.myswissalps.com/zurich/travel

For sightseeing suggestions in Zurich: www.myswissalps.com/zurich/activities

Hi everyone,

The last 3 weekends of Swiss train events will be:

  • 3-4 September 2022: in Bern, Biel and Delémont;
  • 1-2 October 2022: in Yverdon, Fribourg, Lausanne and Renens;
  • 22-23 October 2022: in Lucerne, Erstfeld, Amsteg, Pollegio and Bellinzona.

Have fun!

Hi Arno,

Thanks for mentioning the dates. I will be in Luzern on 22-23rd weekend. Any idea what those activities might be? I'm unable to find any brochure or info about the same.

Regards,

Shweta

Hi Shweta,

You can click the first link in Annika's first post above. Then choose "Region Zentral-Süd" under "Regionen" in the upper right corner. Scroll down to "Luzern" to see the activities for the 22-23 October weekend. You may have to use Google Translate, but that will do a pretty good job of describing the types of activities. Let us know if you need any further help!
