What to expect of this region

Even though the landscape is relatively flat, this is Switzerland, so there are still 'peaks' of almost 1000 m high.

The city of Zurich is the main point of interest for tourists in this region, and absolutely worth a visit. Of course there's much more to see. If you want to visit the Alps, then you best base yourself somewhere else, like in nearby Central Switzerland.

Zurich is the main entry point to Switzerland for plane travelers, as Zurich airport is the main international airport.
